RACE REPORT Empire State Building Run-Up 2/1/17 New York, NY A strong crew of our runners, all from the top ten of our last marathon, challenged the NYPD in the difficult Empire State Building Run-Up. For those who haven't taken on a stair climb, it's like a miserable 5K with sore forearms from the handrails and sore lungs from the stairway dust. But our guys met the challenges with a near sweep: only one NYPD member beat any of our guys. Dry throats were re-hydrated at a local establishment afterwards with Team Manager Pete presiding. UPCOMING LOCAL RACES 40th Annual NYPD vs FDNY Five Miler 3/11/2017 Central Park, NY Please join and support one of our longest running traditions versus the NYPD. As a reminder, this race is scored using the top 100 of each agency and last year the deciding runners were in the low 40-minute range. If you can hold an 8-minute mile, you can help us win! E37/L40 will be graciously serving Blood Marys, hot-dogs and doctored Gatorade as a reward.
